Author's defense was basically along the lines of the mod having been updated so much, that it's no longer a product of STLM anymore (though they still look incredibly similar). The forum mods didn't like that, and Essenthy especially didn't. With that being said, it won't work miracles but like STLM, you might like it better than vanilla (they both have some improvements). I still prefer my own setup, but this one is pretty good and he was paying attention to a lot of feedback on the forums to improve it.
